I haven’t posted much about beauty-related stuff lately, have I? You know…. despite the ‘cred’, I honestly don’t consider myself a “beauty blogger” as my interest in blogging lies in the areas of art, design, fashion and style more so than beauty stuff. Oh, and food too. But of course being a gal, I am naturally vain and need to take care of my face. I have had the privilege of receiving samples from great cosmetic companies from time to time so here’s sharing my experience with the products that I get to try.

I received a few of these whitening masks from Leaders Clinic, a Korean brand a while back and started using them recently. A short intro on this mask:

Leaders Clinic I.P.L Whitelux Ampoule Mask

Breathe life into your skin with important whitening ingredients, Vitamin C-AAG, Arbutin and Mulberry Bark Extract to effectively brighten up and revitalize the skin. Boost in lightening of pigmentation and improve uneven skin tone. Each mask contains an entire bottle of highly concentrated ampoule which enhances the effects of supplying the nutrients while maximizing the hydration, bringing out the radiance in your skin.

I have written several posts on sheet masks before, but never actually attempted to take self-portraits with the mask on. So here we go…. the step-by-step in pictures.

Step 3: Apply gently over face.

Step 4: Start vogueing! Just kidding. I mean, press gently all over face to make sure the mask fits snugly.

Step 5: Smoothen out any air bubbles that result, if there’s any.

Step 6: Sometimes the sheet mask will not cover every surface so feel free to spread some of the liquid over the uncovered areas.

Step 7: Wait 15 to 20 minutes. Daydream during this time. Just relax. Meditate on how radiant your complexion will look at the end of the fifteen minutes or something. Think happy thoughts and rainbows.< The Moonberry Blog Leaders Clinic
Step 8: DINGGGG!!!! Time’s up. Peel off the sheet mask slowly.

Step 9: Pat away any remaining moisture off the face. The sheet mask itself will still be damp so after wiping off my face, I like to ball it up and rub my neck, elbows, knees, or ankles with it. Why waste all that goodness, right?

Step 10: Please apply moisturizer immediately after to lock in all the mask’s benefits to your skin.

VOILA!!! This mask is very gentle and the thin sheet is soft, contours the face well. Immediately after use, my skin is rehydrated, looks brighter, not as dull, and softer to the touch. :)< The Moonberry Blog http://blog.moonberry.com

FYI, as of 2013 Leaders Clinic has been renamed renamed as Beauty Clinic and the essential range is available at selected SaSa, Guardian and BHG outlets, while the 2-step range is available at Sephora ION and MBS, in addition to the aforementioned places. Find out more about these products on the Beauty Clinic Facebook page.

Personal note: I think putting on facial masks (cream-based or sheet-type) is a low-cost and very easy procedure that we ought to incorporate regularly into our skin care routine. I try to diligently put on a mask three times a week since my skin is very prone to dehydration. I often find that after putting a mask, makeup goes on so much better and smoother the next day.

Question for readers: How often do you put on a facial mask?
