“A little bondage never hurt anyone.” – Jason Wu.

And that’s what Jason Wu’s Spring 2013 RTW collection is all about. I love the leather and lace pairing, the chic use of harnesses as accessory (I’ve seen this done before by other designers but it never looked quite right or nearly as tasteful), the beautiful figure-hugging silhouettes and the peekaboo semi-transparent backs. I’d say I fell in love with almost every single piece in the collection as I think they are very wearable.

In Jason Wu’s own words, the collection is inspired by Helmut Newtown and Lillian Bassman. Both Newtown and Bassman were prolific fashion photographers who shot in primarily black and white, the former known for provocative and erotically-charged photos. I say, Fifty Shades of Grey (those who haven’t heard of this book by now must’ve been living under a rock) has hit the runway and the virgin-becoming-female-submissive has gone chic. ;)
