THE HISTORY OF MOONBERRY’S BLOG

Ahhh, blogging.

Believe it or not, I have been blogging for a loooooong time.

My first EVER blog entry was dated 8 July 2000, 05:07pm on Diaryland.

Subsequently I moved to Livejournal in 2002 and my first blog entry there was penned on 08 Aug 2002 at 01:53am. Over the years, I have accumulated MANY memorable entries as I wrote diligently, journaling about my days, the events that occurred, my frustrations and achievements, the friends I’ve made, the exalting love stories, the devastating heartaches – as they happened.

I’ve had my nom de plume ”moonberry” since 1996 and yes, that’s also what most people call me by. So it’s only natural that this blog is called The Moonberry Blog.

To tell you the truth, I blog to record the memories of what I have experienced. It’s a bit like compiling an autobiography of my life with new chapters constantly being added. I chuckle at the old pictures, revisit certain moments and occasions fondly, reminisce all the good people I’ve met and often I also use my blog as a reference to such and such place, such and such incident, etc. There are so many things that take place in life: the good, the bad, the ugly — I do not wish to forget a single moment (but heck, there’s only so much I can remember at one time, hence the blog is a good way to archive this). I no longer write about my private personal matters as much as I used to, but I am still following my authentic life path and pursuing my dreams.

This blog has come a long way and is presently a candid written portrait of my personal interests in the following categories: Fashion & Style,  Food & Travel, Beauty & Wellness, Art & Design. As a New Yorker presently living in Singapore, I find blogging a fun way to stay in touch with my friends and loyal readers while giving me the opportunity to meet new ones too.

So yeah, it’s been (gasp!) over ten years now. Boy, I’m a dinosaur. And I’m still blogging. The blog has evolved a lot over the years and it even won the Best Beauty Blog in the Singapore Blog Awards 2011. I am very grateful for that and most recently, this blog once again made it as a finalist of Best Beauty Blog and Best Lifestyle Blog in the Singapore Blog Awards 2012. Exciting-ness!

The blog provides an inspiring outlet for me and I hope you find it equally interesting to read as well. Thank you so much for your readership and for going on this ride with me.
