True or False: Can scented candles help relieve stress?

True. By using scented candles, an ordinary room can turn into a more cozy and inviting place where one can relax. Aside from turning an ordinary setting to an extraordinary one, scented candles can also evoke various memories from the past while transporting you into a place where you can find serenity and tranquility.

This is exactly what I need these days especially as I have to deal with a lot of stress and emotional strains. Some days I find the need to hole up and shut the world out, just to have my own quiet inner space and make no apologies for being me. Me, myself and I. Serenity. Tranquility. Zennnnnnnnnn….

Even though good quality scented candles are expensive, I feel that scented candles help me greatly in the alteration, enhancement, and improvement of my state of mind. Aside from veering me away from the toxicities of the environment, burning scented candles gives my space a touch of nature as it enlivens and cleanse the air in my abode. I’m enjoying my soul therapy in silent while enjoying the fragrance. Below are some scented candles which I picked up during my overseas travel this year, namely from Munich, Los Angeles and Milan. To some, they are an indulgence. But to me, I think it’s essential to have a few scented candles handy inside the home at all times.

Hommage d’ipuro St. Joseph le jardin botanique and St. Mathieu la vie meditteranee: These are musky and I find them appropriate as a gift to the special guy in my life (I personally do not like musky fragrances). I love the Hommage d’ipuro website, btw.

MOR Emporium Black Collection in Kale & Watercress: A delicate and gentle scent, and despite the name this does not smell veggie-ish at all. Soothing and soft.

Dyptique candle and room fragrance in Baies scent: Hands down my most favoritest fragrance in my entire olfactory vocabulary so far. I don’t even know how to describe Baies, other than it is fresh, uplifting, sophisticated and all-around raises my “feel good” vibrations. I can’t get enough of this special fragrance, I don’t even know how it became so meaningful to me. I just know that when I’m down or feeling out of sorts, a whiff of Baies makes the world alright again and I find a safe little place for my psyche in this scent.
