2. Beautiful oil painting on wood partition by Korean artist Lee Kyoung Mi. I want to point out right now that I have deep personal respect for painters, artists, illustrators everywhere who can draw/paint a cat to be super life-like. Coz seriously the fur is very challenging and gotta get the eyes right. I, for one, have failed – and it’s all due to the lack of trying. ;p

6. The highlight of the show for me (as I’m sure is the case for many others too) is the projection of video onto a painted canvas, by Indian artist Ranbir Kaleka. Many people gathered around this booth to see the piece in action. The artist had painted a simple still-life of kettle using oil on canvas, and then projected a series of motion sequences onto it. It’s difficult for me to explain effectively how awesome this is so I urge you to follow the link below and view the video online for full effect.

All on all, I enjoyed Art Stage Singapore 2011 very much and have more photos which are not seen on this blog. There are great installation pieces, stunning photography (like the one by David LaChapelle above; DAVID LACHAPELLE ROCKS btw!) and multi-media experiences that are creative and beautiful.
