There’s something kinda cute about toasts and toasters, no? Back in the days, the iconic Flying Toasters screensaver featured 1940s-style chrome toasters sporting bird-like wings, flying across the screen with pieces of toast. A slider enabled users to adjust the toast‘s darkness! And does anyone still remember the $28,000 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich with Virgin Mary’s face on it? (List your own Virgin Mary toasts on eBay using this toaster, lolz.)
I guess we really love our toasts and if the toast is too blank to you, let’s print some words and images to make them more unique!
Below is a roundup of toast printers and stamps to decorate our breakfast with.
Zuse Toast Printer,
Made of plastic and aluminum, mimics the dot matrix printer – it burns 12 x 12 pixel images onto your bread and can be programmed to random patterns, or even those of your own design. Comes with a memory card for image storage.
Scan Toaster for Electrolux Design Lab 2008 Competition
A toaster that can burn pretty much anything onto your morning slice, including the news. The Scan Toaster connects to a PC over USB and downloads everything from local weather conditions and the current time to the morning’s news headlines.
Totenkopf Skull Toaster
The rage in all of Europe a few years back, unavailable now.
Pop Art Toaster
This lets you choose from an array of six plates for branding the toast, including a smiley face, a flower, hearts, or “LUV U.”
The Star WarsToaster
Uhm, the Dark Lord eats bread for breakfast?!? Why, this is the toaster to use if you want to live a little on the dark side. Hur, hue, hur.
CNC Toaster / 2D Thermal Printer
Literally a printer for toasts.
Toast Messenger
This toaster by Sasha Tseng incorporates a little message board where one can write quick notes. The handwritten message then gets toasted into the toast itself. Fun fun!
Some toast stamps whichI thought are adorable too…
Tic Tac Toe Toast Bread Stamper
