The Skin Analysis Test
Stephanie, Adonis consultant who did my Skin Analysis test.
The skin analysis test was performed by placing small magnifying device on my skin.
So the thing about HEALTHY YOUTHFUL skin is, as you can see from the images above [swiped from Google], we can see the formation of a diamond-shaped lattice. This is made up of the natural collagen and elastin in our skin.
When the magnifying device was placed on the inner-side of my arm, an area that doesn’t get much sun exposure, we can visibly see the aforementioned diamond-shaped lattice. Fat, plump, distinct-looking grid. This is a good indicator that the skin here (my inner arm) is supple, healthy and relatively youthful.
When the same device was placed on my face however….. *DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN*…. what we see here is (sighhhhh) very thin strands and the lattice isn’t as visible or obvious anymore. Considering that I had makeup on (which did skew the accuracy of said analysis slightly), basically this image indicated that the skin on my face is kinda aged. The collagen formation isn’t very strong and the skin is not very elastic anymore (read: prone to sagging in the future). And those offensive-looking white shiny dots are, yups, sebum secretions. *GWA GWA GWAAAA~*
Brown patches = pigmentation. ‘Nuff said. I mean, they are already visible to the naked eye, so magnifying it was just …. a horror show. *Sigh, shaking head*. BUT! The good news is, thanks to those IPL treatments which I’ve done, the pigmentation on my skin has definitely improved by leaps and bounds. Else we’ll be seeing one big brown rectangle above. :X According to Cindy, I will need to continue maintaining this medically-based treatments to keep the pigmentation at bay. And of course, she stressed the importance of putting on sunscreen daily.
CONCLUSION: NOT TOO BAD. Visible effort in maintenance, considering factors such as different countries/climate change/etc which I’m exposed to. Wear sunscreen religiously.
So that pretty much summed up the consultations I did at Adonis Beauty, and the individual test results. I hope this peaked your interest a little bit and perhaps you have gleaned some information as well. Sometime over the next three to four weeks, I will be going back regularly to try out some treatments which they will recommend to me. Let’s see how those are gonna pan out and I, of course, will dutifully report on this blog. Stay tuned, readers! :)
While waiting around for my turn at the tests, I snapped a couple of photos with the other finalists. Here’s Sara (icyabstract) next to me, and Sophie who’s the PR marketing gal for Adonis.
Here’s Ju Ann, another finalist. There were ten of us total but we were split up because there was limited space so we had to be shuffled around in between consultation rooms.
