Eeeeps, I almost missed celebrating my birthday this year. Thanks to a couple of awesome friends though, I got to blow out my birthday candle in a quiet and simple impromptu affair starting with a yummy yakitori dinner followed by drinks and an endless flow of good conversations. Yay. I am grateful for the wonderful company that evening, and then going home to an avalanche of Facebook wall messages, text messages and emails from everyone/everywhere. ♥ ♥ ♥ *sniffles* *so touched* ♥ ♥ ♥ It was nice to take in that little bit of celebratory vibe in between my back-to-back jet-setting schedule. One of my gal pals exclaimed, “You are flying so much these few weeks, you can become a Singapore Girl!”. [Singapore Girl refers to the lovely flight attendants on Singapore Airlines.]
Speaking of birthdays, one of the most memorable birthday parties I’ve had in recent memory is the major (seriously MAJOR) celebration I had in 2008 at NYC. It was a “Moonberry’s Rockstar Birthday Party”. That was one helluva kick-ass birthday and we totally rocked Happy Ending. }:) Whoohoo~
GO TEAM MOONBERRY!!!
Just for kicks, I dug up photos of my birthday celebration ten years ago, circa 2001. Ten fucken’ years ago… *hiaks* (Spring chicken!) :] Funnily enough, that year I celebrated with Japanese food and drinks too.*lolz* Purely coincidental.
Anyhoo, I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but as the year rolls along this whole birthday thing isn’t quite as hot as it used to be. Because of, you know… AGEING! -__-” Yeah, yeah, age is just a number… I’ve heard that cliche so many times to the point where my ears were beginning to bleed. BUT! Luckily Asian women are generally blessed with good anti-ageing genes (I think) and can get by looking relatively youthful (I should hope so). You don’t agree? Look at the illustration below.
Puwahahahahahahaha!!! :x ‘Tis all good, ’tis all good. Ageing gracefully is all that matters, right? To many, many more wonderful birthdays to come! :) :) :)
Cheers,
-MB.
