Chez Vous Spring Summer 2013 Hair Colors – Manic Panic Cotton Pink For Me Please

6 June, 2013
Moonberry

It’s been a long while since I last did anything to my hair (busy, lazy, ahem) and it had gotten very uninspiring. Meh. Thanks to Chez Vous – my new hair sponsor, yay! – I went for a root-to-end hair rescue session recently. Over the last several months, my hair condition had been less than ideal due to my neglect. Scalp was unusually greasy, ends were annoyingly frizzy and dry, and as for the color… yikes, I think the bleached parts were visibly damaged which was definitely not a trendy look. My hair was long (I am happy about the growth) but it wasn’t looking healthy or chic. Ugh!

Thanks to Chez Vous, my hair has been given a new lease in life. :D *psyched*

Initially I had wanted to just cover up the bleached parts of my hair and go for an overall one hair color top to bottom, front to back. But it’s gonna be summer, the season of bright happy colors after all. I also couldn’t contain my excitement when Serene, my stylist at Chez Vous, showed me the Spring Summer 2013 Color chart from Manic Panic.

Manic Panic, even though relatively new in Singapore salons, has been around since my college days in the early nineties (in NYC). Plenty of my schoolmates used to DIY dye their hair using Manic Panic in their dorm rooms. Yellow, orange, turquoise, purple, fire engine red, bubblegum pink, you name it, Manic Panic has it. Such was the joy of being an art school student in a big city, you can wear really loud hair colors to school and no one would bat an eyelid.

For no particular reason, I had cut out a lot of pink from my wardrobe in recent years and I kinda miss the visual punch of a really bright fuschia. So I decided on Manic Panic Cotton Pink accent paired with a deep brown from L’oreal as base color. The look I’m going for is punk-chic, and not so much girly-cutesy. Let’s rock-n-roll, baby!

Chez Vous stylist, Serene, wielding her shears and giving me a new Haircut – about 4 inches of dry ends snipped away. This was my first time at Chez Vous, this salon belongs to the same family as the newer Salon Vim 313 and Salon Vim Bugis. Chez Vous was established in 1995 and  is one of the leading hair styling experts in Singapore, with a roundup of very experienced hairstylists who’s been in the industry for decades. They live and breathe their craft when it comes to hair styling. You want experienced hairstylists? This is where they’re at.

Needless to say, after any hair chemical process, a hair treatment is absolutely necessary. I did Privy Hair Treatment – which strengthens, conditions and rebuilds hair texture. As you can see right after my hair session at Chez Vous, my hair was silky smooth and my Cotton Pink streaks look ultra vibrant. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Salon hair treatments really do wonder, and I know I don’t do it frequently enough. I love the feel of soft and smooth hair slipping through my fingers when I touch my hair. Read on as there’s a promotion going on right now at Ches Vouz for all of us enjoy a luxurious hair treatment session together at a great discount.

At-home haircare and maintenance is critical in order to keep hair healthy and the color looking bright. I am no stranger to Kerastase Reflection Bain Mirror Shampoo from L’oreal, formulated especially for color-treated hair. But because my hair is also prone to dryness, Serene recommended the new Kerastase Elixis Ultime as post-shampoo conditioning treatment and followed by Kerastase Reflection Chroma Cristal mist to add shine (after hair is rinsed and toweled dry; to be applied to hair roots only).

I am super duper happy with my hair. Soft to the touch and the color, oh that Cotton Pink color, is so darn punk I love love love love it. Thought I should share that now is a really great time to refresh your hair color and rock a new hairstyle at Chez Vous by taking advantage of  their Great Singapore Sale promotional discount.
