I spent the weekend slowing down and by that I mean I stayed away from the computer or anything digital for a bit. As it was, my bloody mobile carrier was acting like a b!tch and catching up on social media via my smart phone was painfully slow. Additionally because it was also the weekend and everyone seemed to be online downloading something or another, my broadband connection on desktop was annoyingly crawling too. So I decided to put all that aside and did some paper crafting instead. Which turned out to be awesomely therapeutic and I got around to making these lovely paper gems.
I came across these pretty paper gems template via Pinterest and I love how they remind me of crystal formations. Given that the festivities are very quickly creeping upon us, I decided to use pearlescent paper and display them as home decor around the house for Christmas. These are really easy to put together (thanks to the template). I haven’t decided yet whether I want to embellish them further by spraying glitter or sticking on diamante crystals. For now, I think they look pretty grouped together and nested inside a clear glass bowl.

I am happy with the way these turned out. Using different colored papers will look nice too. Maybe when I get around to making more, I will string them all together and make a mobile. :) Check out my other DIY paper project using post-it notes.
Cheers,
