Having one of those lazy weekends to chillax because it’s been an awfully busy week prior. Actually this entire month has been busy. Scratch that, this first quarter has been non-stop busy for me. Like, constantly go, go, go. Busy with what, I can’t tell you but all I know is that the days feel so short, the weeks are rolling by in a blink of an eye and there are mountainloads of things to do. Not enough hours in the day for everything. :]
Was initially planning to stay indoors all weekend but decided to go out for brunch spontaneously with AiMakan at Forty Hands earlier. I’m feeling lazy but I still gotta feed myself, right? :P Food at Forty Hands was not bad, portion was perfect but place was mad packed and felt very cramped. It’s so busy that you pretty much wait for a seat, place your order, eat, and get out. Badabing, badaboom. It’s not a place for lingering around, sipping tea leisurely or having a relaxed conversation with friends (at least not for me). The vibe there was bustling busy, busy, busy. Heh, what’s new? :P That’s my current theme.
Tiong Bahru is such a hip estate these days; I’d probably go back to try out the other eateries in the ‘hood next time as well poke into some of the small shops there too.
Spotted an interesting infographic that someone had designed for the place. Cool beans. :D
My Eggs Cocotte, from the weekend brunch menu. Pretty good. I LOVE LOVE LOVE crusty bread such as this one. :9~ MMMmmm.
AiMakan’s Big Breakfast, which had everything from sausages, to bacon, to mushrooms, to bolognese sauce. That’s one big breakfast alright.
My Eggs Cocotte looks kinda puny in comparison, but it filled me up just right. Anything more and I’d be bloated.
Actually, only lau sar pau (流沙包 aka “salted egg yolk custard bun”) will do it for me. I adore LAU SAR PAU, not tau sar pau — nopes, not a typo.
Swung by Foodie Market Place on the way home and picked up a small bag of groceries, which included a huge bag of chocolate profiteroles. Mine, mine, all mine. }:P
This pair of Hello Kitty frame, gifted from AiMakan, is apparently the rage everywhere on the street. Uhm, I must’ve been living under a rock or something this whole time, but psyched nonetheless to have my own pair now. ^^ (Thank you so much, babe… 我超爱!!!) You will be seeing me in these on the blog very often from now on. They are so kitschy but adorable max. Hee~
The weekend isn’t over yet, but I’d like to adhere to the original plan and do some reading in bed while listening to some indietronica. On that note, can I just say that the Drive OST is as equally awesome as the movie? And Ryan, oh Ryan, you such a hottie you.
Ok, loading up my playlist and hitting the books. Ciao!
