When I was in BKK recently for a short getaway, I ate a lot. Maybe a wee bit too much. But I ain’t making any excuses for my binge, in fact I was happy I got to eat so many delicious food. Especially coz on a normal day in the last several weeks, it’s been ultra hectic and stressful for me to the point where I don’t start eating my first meal until 4pm. Despite pigging out in BKK – everything was too damn yummy, see the visual evidence on my Instagram feed – I gained only 0.7 kg. O_o!? I swear I’d wanted to eat MORE but I’m a weak puss and get full quickly, so I stop whenever I feel I’ve had enough food.
Anyway, I guess the mere 0.7 kg weight gain is somewhat of a relief. Coz last thing I want is to be stressed AND fat post-vacation. Na-uh. *wagging index finger* I’m currently at 46 kg-ish (plus minus, depending whether I’m bloated that day or not). Sometimes I’m silently freaking out coz in my mind I’ll be happy when weight is somewhere between 43-45 kg. But it’s a-okay because I’m just 1 kg-ish over my imagined ideal weight.
To be honest, I don’t really get this weight thing anymore. It goes up it goes down. Sometimes after a really hefty poop, immediately I lost over a kg just like that. So when I received this body analytics scale from Re Lifestyle, I figured it’ll help me clear up this weight mystery once and for all, helping me to identify what a healthy weight for me is. Like, for real and not in my mind or imagination so that I don’t freak out over an additional kilo or two.
What sets this body analytics scale apart from normal scales is that it displays multifunctional measurement of weight and bone mass, BMI as well as body fat, body water and muscle mass using a bioimpedance analysis. Ooohhh, how fancy schmancy. Let’s see what numbers were thrown back at me upon stepping onto this body analytics scale.
Weight: 46.5 kg
Body Fat: 22.1%
Body Hydration: 57.1%
Muscle Mass: 35.4%
Bone Mass: 3.1 kg
BMI: 17.5
Energy/Metabolism: 990 kcal
It took me a while to figure out the numbers, coz without standardized references my results are just a bunch of cryptic numbers. Here’s what I found online for my reference.
If I had read the charts and my results correctly, I belong in the LOW-NORMAL/MILD THINNESS categories. So… I guess I can pig out a little bit more without being too worried? :P Hahaha. My metabolism results seem to be a bit on the low side though, which means I still have to watch out when it comes to food intake (better don’t eat too much!).
