I am guest-blogging for Reebonz City as The Reebonz City Girl of The Week this week (whoohoooo!!!).
For those not in the know, Reebonz City actively seeks out the most exciting and extraordinary events, services and experiences available in your city (in my case presently, that’d be Singapore) and negotiate incredible deals to be offered exclusively to members. So this week I am delighted to share with you my experience at Immortelle Atelier and introduce you to their 1st anniversary promotional treatment, the Jyunka Vitamin C Facial Treatment.

One of the main products Immortelle Atelier uses is Maria Galland from Paris.
In addition to facial treatments, Immortelle Atelier also offers personal make-up courses. Classes are conducted either one-on-one (bring magazine tear-outs of the looks which you’d like to learn) or in small groups. I immediately thought that this will be a fun activity with a group of girlfriends or female colleagues. Birthdays or bachelorette party, anyone? Hellooo, smoldering sultry sexy smoky eye. }:)
This beautiful seating area is right by the balcony and bathed in sunlight (shades were drawn down in this image for the purpose of photography). I fell in love at first sight with the pair of grand armchairs – there are crystals embedded in them! Oh, lovely. If only I have space in my apartment for one of these armchairs… it’ll be like, my throne. *muwahahaha*
My facial started with cleansing and then a light coat of peel was applied to my face. Judy, my beauty therapist – also co-owner of Immortelle Atelier, assessed my skin and recommended a medium strength peel so as not to overstress my skin. (I’ve been getting facials rather frequently of late so the medium was apt for me at this time.)
A purifying mask was then put on to soothe and calm the skin after the peel. Stealing a few zzz’s while waiting for the mask to dry.
After the mask was cleaned off my face, here comes the best part of every facial: the lymphatic drainage massage!
Judy massaged my face and pressure points with just the right amount of firmness. This helped the Vitamin C essence which she put on when the massage started to be absorbed readily by my skin.
To effectively reduce water retention and that bloated puffiness we get sometimes around our cheeks, lymphatic drainage massage is done around the cheeks, jawline and chin, continued down along the neck’s pressure points, shoulders and upper arms. That essentially clears out whatever blockage there may be along the lymph nodes.
Following the massage, the second mask was applied. This lifting mask firms and regenerates, stimulating the functions of the skin, improving skin elasticity and has a toning action all at the same time. Over my eyes, Judy applied a cooling eye contour mask which moisturizes the skin around the eyes and reduces wrinkles.
While I was benefiting from the mask’s awesome-ness, Judy massaged my hands – all the way from shoulders, upper arms and down to my fingers. *Surprised!* This would be the first time I had such a combination treatment of facial with a full hand massage thrown in. It was different than other facials I’ve done and definitely a most welcome bonus to the treatment. Considering how much we use our arms and hands, they are often overlooked don’t you think? Everyone’s usually focusing on back and shoulders, or feet when it comes to massage.
At the conclusion of my facial treatment…. Ah~ Blisssss. I was thinking of how relaxed both my arms felt after the wonderful hand massage bonus.
Post-massage glow and radiance! :) Yay.
The thing I genuinely appreciate about Immortelle Atelier is that they are a small intimate outfit, therefore I can get very personable and friendly service here. The space is quiet because services are offered by appointment only. You don’t hear staff chit-chatting or other customers yapping away on their cellphones in the waiting area. I’ve had amazing facials and massages done elsewhere before, but the noises coming from outside the treatment room were so disruptive and distracting. Bliss-killer. Super annoying. People need to realize that you have to keep your voice down to a whisper and silence your cellphones (please!!!) when you are in this environment. Common courtesy, ladies! Keep your volumes down so that we can all bliss out together. Kapish???
