Have you heard of Hada Labo Retinol Lotion before?
When I got an opportunity to sample the Hada Labo Retinol Lifting and Firming Lotion, I jumped for it.
I first got to know the brand, Hada Labo, thru seeing these giant bus ads with a headline splashed across. It read, “One drop locks in the ocean”. Intrigued, I went to Watson’s to check it out and saw that Hada Labo is one of the best-selling brands in Japan currently. Tons of Japanese women can’t be wrong, so I gave it a shot and picked up a couple of bottles. One from the Hydrating range, another from the Whitening range – I like them both. The Retinol range is new and it has anti-aging properties. Whoohooooo!
Hada Labo Retinol Lotion Texture
Now this is where it gets interesting. This is a lotion but it’s supposed to be used as a toner. The instructions said it’s to be applied after cleansing. The texture is sorta a little milky and thick-ish, and it’s to be patted onto the face until it gets absorbed. Not rub, but PAT. Pat, pat, pat pat, pat pat pat.
I was initially concerned that this will leave a greasy film over my face, but the lotion gets absorbed readily by my face and the skin becomes supple as a result of it. Happy! What makes this product special is three main ingredients that make up the formula:
- Retinol Vitamin A
- Collagen
- Super Hyaluronic Acid
After using Hada Labo, I feel that my skin becomes more hydrated and brighter. Makeup goes on smoother and more evenly, I think. This product is great because:
- Instantly replenish moisture to hydrate skin from within. Significantly smoothes fine lines and wrinkles leaving skin feeling soft, supple and revitalized.
- Regular use improves elasticity, radiance and a more youthful appearance to the skin. Prepares the skin to fully receive the benefits of other Retinol products.
- Skin pH balanced. Low irritation.
- Free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant.
To illustrate the ‘bounciness’ of the skin after using this product, there’s a tv commercial for the brand’s HK market.
I definitely think this is one product that everyone should check out. It’s inexpensive and comes in a generous bottle size. Even though a small amount goes a long way, I don’t feel guilty about splashing this on my face. (Well, not literally, but you know what I mean…). I now have three bottles of Hada Labo lotions in my powder room and I rotate between Hydrating, Whitening and Retinol Anti-Aging.
I know it’s waaaaaay early to be thinking about Christmas but this lotion will make a nice stocking stuffer for my Team Moonberry posse. Packaging color is festive, the product is affordable, efficacy is good— the hydrating properties will be so perfect for NYC winter. :)
