My sis sent me a Hello Kitty Spam Musubi Kit! The kit consists of three items: one musubi mold (for the rectangular rice block that’s the same shape and size as a slice of SPAM), one Hello Kitty mold for the cat face, and one can of low sodium SPAM. I wasted no time in making some immediately.

How friggin’ adorable are these Hello Kitty Spam Musubis. Thank you, sis~ ♥
The kit doesn’t come with instructions (?) but making a spam musubi isn’t complicated anyway. I have posted a Spam Musubi recipe before here; for the Hello Kitty version I made some adjustments:
3 cups cooked rice
3 slices SPAM
2 tablespoons Sakura Denbu
1 sheet nori (for wrap, whiskers and eyes)
corn for nose
red pepper for bow
Teriyaki Sauce: 2 Tbs sugar + 1 Tbs soy sauce + 1 Tbs mirin
If you’re keen on trying to make Hello Kitty Spam Musubi too, here are some tools to check out (along with cute Spam Musubi knick-knacks which I think are cute):
1. Hello Kitty Mini Rice Ball Musubi Mold Sushi Press, 2. Kotobuki Spam Musubi Mold,
3. Spam Musubi T-shirt, 4. Hello Kitty Spam Musubi Kit, 5. Spam Musubi Charm, 6. Spam Musubi Pillow

Remember the time when I got an acrylic musubi maker from Daiso (LA) and made Bo-Sam Musubi before?
