I have begun taking this Kosdaq Luthioneade Whitening Supplement. Living in a tropical country situated right by the equator is a challenge when it comes to not getting tanned. Even though I’ve been working from home (yay) ever since the pandemic broke out, I put on sunscreen on a daily basis because my work desk is right by the window. It is inevitable that my skin will still be exposed to UV rays during the daytime regardless. So in addition to external protection, I am also doing internal care. It is going to be quite a journey to reverse the sun damage that I have subjected my skin to decades ago, but I am making an effort nonetheless.
Have you heard of Glutathione? Glutathione is a substance produced by the liver and it is a powerful antioxidant. Beyond its many touted health benefits, Glutatione is popular for its skin lightening properties and treatment of hyperpigmentation. I am back to looking after my skin as I’ve been getting dry skin and loss of collagen due to aging (bleh). After lamenting to an acquaintance in the medical industry recently that my freckles are still so persistent in spite of using sunscreen religiously and doing skincare routine diligently, he suggested that I try Glutathione. I was not familiar with what it is, so I looked it up online to find out more.
From my online reading and research, this article states that Gluthatione helps to decrease the melanin (pigmentation) of skin but has also been found to reduce the appearance of wrinkles AND increase the elasticity of the skin. I also discovered that Glutathione comes in two forms: Liposomal Glutatione and Reduced Glutathione.
After comparing different brands of Glutathione supplements, I decided on Kosdaq Luthioneade Whitening Supplement. Without going into the lengthy and non-layman explanations of the difference between Liposomal and Reduced Glutathione, what we know is that Luthioneade is made of Reduced Glutathione. My interepretation is also that “Luthioneade” is a word used exclusively by the Kosdaq brand for marketing purposes and it is not an actual chemical name, but rather a product type and name. Even though there is published articles about the low absorption rate of Reduced Glutathione as compared to Liposomal Gluthathione, the results from a study detailed in this article are positive.
Kosdaq Luthioneade Whitening Supplement is made in Korea. It comes in a box that contains 20 sachets of 40g powder content. I didn’t want to add another capsule or pill to my daily cocktail of supplements, so powder form is ideal for me. Actually a few years ago I had come across this product before and had picked up a box to try. But I took the product intermittently at the time, so this time I picked up several more boxes with the intention of consuming on a daily basis.
I have no results to share since the effects of Glutathione takes at least several months of regular use. What I can share so far is that the powder tastes fruity and it is to be taken twice daily. Once before breakfast, and once more before sleep. The powder should be consumed directly without water. I have begun incorporated this into my daily routine together with the Nutrione BB Lab Collagen 1500.
Hopefully, together with regular sunscreen use and my skincare regime, this Kosdaq Luthioneade Whitening Supplement will yield results for me. My overall skintone is not that dark so I expect the lightening/brightening results to be very gradual and there may not even be a drastically difference. What I am hoping is that this will help with the lightening of my hyperpigmentation on my face aka those pesky freckles.
