I am convinced that the leopard print trend is a timeless one. Back in the early nineties, I was in Tokyo one winter and everywhere I went, Japanese ladies were sporting leopard print scarves, boots, earmuffs, coats and bags. Fast forward twenty friggin’ years later (!), we are still sporting leopard print everywhere – on the runway and off the runway. Safe to say, this is one style classic.
While I have been relatively wary of this print because it is so flashy and loud, the message that’s being sent out when wearing leopard print is clear: FIERCE. This isn’t for wallflowers – or is it? – as wearing leopard print has the effect of making one feel confident, bold, wild. At the same time, it’s alluring, sexy and luxe.
This fall, leopard print is back and I’ve jumped on board starting with my manicure. I’m loving it, purrr~

My mom used to wear quite a bit of animal print outfits and leopard print was one she was seen quite often in. People used to think that she was a safari staff alumni or something. While I don’t own anything in my wardrobe in leopard print (yet), I quite like the idea of a fluffy leopard print coat for winter-time, or even just a flowy chiffon scarf as embellishment to the usual Singapore’s tropical-weather sartorial picks.
Anyway, if you are going to wear leopard print, do it in small doses for maximum impact. There’s no need to wrap yourself from head to toe with everything leopard print, unless you want to be mistaken as an escaped species from the safari. Just adorn yourself tastefully with one or two items and BAM! instant rockstar.
Rock-n-roll,
