Sharing body and face treatments at PhysioAesthetics.
The inevitable is happening. Repercussions from all my traveling ie. carefree eating in the last handful of months have touched down onto the weighing scale when I step on it lately. Then again, happy travels = happy times = happy belly. I am accepting the weight gain with open arms and a bulging smiling belly as I’ve been medically instructed to increase my BMI and switch up my lifestyle for the better (eg. sleep earlier, drink more water, take vitamins, etc.).
I’ve got a feeling weight loss isn’t gonna be on my agenda over the next several months though…
Therefore, I’d like to maintain whatever’s left of my svelte frame and not turn into a whale. I visited PhysioAesthetics for the first time back in June to try out the body treatment and facial. Their treatments are really cool so I went back there again recently.
What makes the treatments at PhysioAesthetics different than other places I’ve been to is that they use a unique technology that stimulate the cellular communication needed for skin elasticity and firmness.
This technology has evolved from more than 10 years of scientific research into Cellular Signalling by Mr Gerry Pollock (a Nobel prize winning scientist and creator of the pacemaker). This highly sophisticated technology produces over 5,500 signals, compatible with the body’s own signalling within our cells. This innovative, scientific Nano-technology treatment is like nothing else. It is safe, natural and completely painless. The technology uses futuristic nanotechnology to transport these unique signals through the body’s ion channels increasing essential proteins, rebalancing and sustaining the perfect balance of calcium inside the cells.
Sci-fi schtuff. :)
Prior to the body treatment, I got my vital stats taken and did a body analysis.
I am hereby going to shamelessly boast that the analysis results pegged me as having the body age of a 19 year old. MWUAHAHAHAHA! *happy dance* #fuckyeah *happy dance* Not bad at all for a slug who’s allergic to working out, eh??? Thank you, dad and mom, for passing down great genes and super metabolism. }:D I semi-kid; I admit I can’t be arsed to drag myself to the gym and shall make no apologies for that. *silently whispers* I am doing my best to exercise and work out nowadays though, just a little bit.
So the first measurement indicated my body age was 19 years old and …. five months later, with the second measurement, my body age has increased to that of a 27 year old. WHUATTT!!!!!! Fine. Some satisfaction remains in knowing that 27 is still over a decade below my actual age, although I could have gloated more if it had remained at 19.
Seriously. I sometimes feel like I should just continue taking care of my body the way I already know how to as my body is fine, and all these medical advice on making changes blablabla hasn’t brought forth tremendous reassurance. For example, if we’re to look at the notes above, I’ve gained visceral fat, increased BMI, gained weight but dropped body fat and gained muscle mass. I don’t particularly care what that means since I look pretty much the same, just maybe a wee chubbier and I break a slight sweat pulling up my short shorts over my hips (all the fat lives in my hips and butt, man). What I want is for my internal parts to be in tip-top condition, for them to work the way they’re supposed to work, plus an overall happier emotional state, and stress-free, drama-free existence. That’s what I want. (I’m getting there!)
Eh wait, I almost forgot I also want a firmer, more toned body and that’s what brought me to PhysioAesthetics in the first place. Sorry I digress…
FOR BODY:
I somewhat got a combination of the two treatments listed below since for this session, the targeted area happened to be my derrière, ie. lifting and toning so that we can twerk it like Miley. Heh!
First, the therapist strapped on a fabric belt across my tush, and into which she inserted moistened pads that were plugged into a machine. The moistened pads came in direct contact with the skin and then emitted pulses that stimulate and jiggle the area. It took a bit of getting used to, but this procedure was not painful at all. In fact, since this wasn’t my first session, I had graduated to going for a stronger vibration because… why not? Better and quicker results!
PhysioAesthetics No Sweat Inch Loss Treatment
$350 for one area or $480 for two areas / 55 mins
Targets: Stubborn fat deposits and cellulite, saddle bags, high waist-to-hip ratio, “muffin tops”. The accumulation of abdominal fat can lead to serious health problems like heart disease. Burn belly fat with this safe, non-invasive and painless treatment, where isometric muscle contractions replace exhausting sit-up sessions. The results are long-lasting circumference reduction from problematic areas as well as body shaping. Patients have lost a total of 3-4 inches or more overall after a series of treatments.
PhysioAesthetics No Sweat Muscle Sculpt
$350 for one area or $480 for two areas / 55 mins
Targets: Belly fat. Build lean muscle and reduce your visceral fat with this treatment that burns up fat cells, not glucose, for energy. One session is equivalent to an intensive 2-hour gym workout; you will get all the benefits without the discomfort and soreness that comes afterwards.
FOR FACE:
PhysioAesthetics Signature FaceLift
$380 / 90 mins
This signature face treatment targets the entire skin system; it not only enhances muscle tone and gives the ultimate facelift without any pain or downtime, it also increases inter-muscular connectivity to give sculpted facial features.
Cleansing of face and application of whitening ampule.
During this facial, the therapist applied a wonderful lavender-scented gel onto my face before massaging it throughout with a pair of handheld devices which sent mild currents onto the skin. This wasn’t painful and with my eyes were closed, I imagined the therapist erasing away all the fine lines and pigmentation on my face with a magic wand, hee. Before long, the lavender scent had me dozing off.
If you ask me, I think there’s definitely visible improvement immediately after the treatment. My face looked like I’ve just woken up from a good, restful sleep – supple, refreshed, glowing, and well-rested. Skin was soft to the touch, had a tightened appearance and I left for my business meeting right after with nothing on aside from natural tinted sunscreen and organic tinted lip conditioner. Over the next few days, my skin remained bright and soft.
Oh, I’d like to mention that PhysioAesthetics stocks a handful of great brands that are natural and/or organic, and these products are not readily available elsewhere in Singapore. I’ve begun incorporating friendlier and gentler products into my makeup and skincare routine. What you put on to your skin is just as important as what you put into your body, don’t you agree? It’s an all-around holistic approach to wellness, IMO.
ILIA Organic Tinted Lip Conditioner (S$46) – this baby contains organic ingredients to soothe and condition the lips. Cocoa butter, jojoba oil and Vitamin E have moisturising and skin-healing properties, while pomegranate seed extract help fight free radicals with its anti-aging properties. Jasmine and orange essential oils provide an uplifting mild scent. Each shade carries a sheer touch of colour that increases in intensity when applied liberally.
ILIA Pure Mascara (S$46) – Made with up to 85% organic ingredients and contains natural preservative, for more length, glossiness and fullness to each lash.
COOLA Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint Mineral Sunscreen (S$84) – I raved about this natural sunscreen before on my Instagram. I absolutely LOVE it! Not only is it tinted, infused with certified organic ingredients and antioxidants, the texture is silky and it does not leave a yucky shiny finish on the face like most sunscreen does. I highly, highly recommend this product and you can pick up a tube at PhysioAesthetics. A little goes a long way.
Karuna Hydrating Treatment Mask – Made with an all-natural fiber cloth (bio-degradable wood pulp) that feels luxurious on the skin, this sheet mask brightens and hydrates fatigued skin.
Btw, not long ago I hosted a meet-and-greet session and shared my personal wellness journey, including what I thought about the treatments offered at PhysioAesthetics and how I incorporated that into my maintenance regime. Hope to do that again sometime as I like meeting my readers. Stay connected via my Facebook page! :)
