It’s been over two months since I last visited Salon de Choix. The last Tangerine Tango highlights they gave me was fabulous and I really loved it, but in time the “Firefox” look had miserably faded into a pile of blonde hay and the ends were horrendously dry. Even I had to admit that it was looking rather appalling. However the last several weeks were really busy for me, what with styling for fashion show, then the 100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Dreams exhibit (did you go to see my artwork in person?) and also other design endeavours taking up a fair chunk of my time. When it comes to carving out time, one’s just gotta bite the bullet and assertively do it… or live with the blondish dry hair for a wee bit longer.
I decided enough was enough so I made an appointment with Salon de Choix to fix my hair and Sharon, director of the salon, suggested a coppery-chestnut color for this round. Just in time for the turn of the season, I say!
While we’re on the topic of time, I ended up sitting at the salon for nearly eight hours to fix my hair color. This is kinda why I’d been dragging it out for over two months; I get really restless spending all day at the salon but it had to be done and there’s no getting away with maintenance schtuff like this I reckon. The ends of my hair were looking seriously damaged – as you can see in the top left photo, so some serious remedy had to be done. That came in the form of an intensive treatment, which naturally took some time.
Many many years ago, when I was a student, I used to color my own hair at home using boxed products. Hey, I was on a budget! Now that I’m a grown up, I think this sort of thing is best left to the salon professionals, especially because there are chemicals involved and you don’t want to accidentally fry your own hair and damaging it. What I appreciate about Salon de Choix is that they treat your hair properly and in my case, after getting a fresh color applied, they administered treatment so that the color will last longer and also hair doesn’t get damaged from all the chemicals.
After the treatment, Salon de Choix applied this Kerastase Grand Cru Elixir Ultime hair oil which was ZOMG so ultra softening and my hair got super duper pampered. The rich texture of the oil combined with the AMAZING fragrance (inspired by Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume) left my hair soooooooooooo silky, light and airy that I got away with not washing my hair for almost five days afterwards! This hair elixir was indeed heavenly.
I kid you not, for the following days after my hair treatment finished with this elixir, I couldn’t sleep because my hair was too soft. Hahaha, I know, I know… but trust me, I wasn’t exaggerating. Normally my hair would be frizzy and tangly all over, I was used to yanking it out from under the pillow. But after my salon visit, my hair was super luxuriously silky and I felt like my head was floating on the pillow. Puwahahaha!
Btw, I am wearing a Navy Jumper from Ooma and it is super duper comfy. I’m still digging the jumper styles. Have you read my blog post on Ooma yet?
I guess I generally neglect my hair because I am so not hot on spending all day at the salon pampering these tresses, but having silky smooth hair honestly makes for happy days. I love the feeling of having good hair so much, I probably won’t wait for another two months before going back to Salon de Choix to get a moisturizing treatment again. *Wheeeeeee*
