Following up on Chapter 1 of my La’Fleur Indulgence video shoot for Samsung Singapore, here’s more behind-the-scene snapshots of what took place during filming day. In this video, I shared three simple spa treats that you can enjoy at home. Asian Martha Stewart strikes again! Hur hur hur. ;P

Incidentally, this video was shot first at the start of the day so I was relatively more upbeat (?) and looked more spritely.
The first at-home spa treat – the foot soak – is a great way to unwind, especially towards the end of the day after walking around or being on your feet all day. I personally like to use hot water coz it relaxes the muscles. The salts used in the foot soak help to disinfect and also soften rough calloused skin. Even if you don’t have a fancy foot soak tub with the vibrating bubbling function (last I checked it was on sale for $39.99 at Watsons), even a shallow pail or plastic bucket will do. And then dial up the indulgence factor by getting your husband or boyfriend to massage your clean disinfected feet afterwards. Har har har! :X
The second at-home spa treat I shared was a homemade soap pouch using oatmeal, grated soap and essential oil. I wish there are scratch-and-sniff monitors, coz this mixture smells heavenly. Oatmeal is great as it has exfoliating, soothing and moisturizing properties. Additionally, oatmeal soap is beneficial for anyone with oily or acne-prone skin, as the oatmeal absorbs oil without over-drying. Just a word on buying oatmeal, make sure you read the label on the box first if you’re getting this at the supermarket. Don’t get those that contain sugar in the mix, get pure organic plain oatmeal. Lay off those fancy maple-syrup and cinnamon flavored ones please! Uncle Quaker proooooobably doesn’t belong in the shower either. Just read the labels first.
(Uhm, check out Mister James Bond at the background there…)
The third and last at-home spa treat which I shared in the La’Fleur Indulgence video for Samsung Singapore is fancified water! This has gotta be the simplest yet best treat ever. Fancy-schmancy. But hey, there are indeed health benefits in this too, and your plain water no longer has to taste so blah.
Would you like some lemon, mint or cucumber water? :)
(WAH! Another Mister James Bond at the background.)
I’ve taken to drinking water with lemon slices or a squirt of lemon juice regularly these days. Firstly because I like the citrus aroma, and secondly because I came across this great image that bulletpoints the health benefits of drinking lemon water (see below). There are so many health benefits in one glass! It’s too damn easy and affordable to add a slice of lemon to your drinking water, so why not? Give it a try and start drinking this regularly! :D *CHEERS*
I don’t know how many people realize this but I’m totally into this “whole living, inner wellness, raw beauty, homeopathic remedies” thing. I have a digital subscription to Natural Health, Real Simple, Spirituality & Health, and was rather upset when Whole Living ceased publication. The magazines I subscribe to shouldn’t surprise anyone since I’m a trippy-dippy, hipster, new-age moonchild. (Err yes, I subscribe to Martha Stewart Living also.)
Yah, yah, I know I won the Best Beauty Blog category in 2011 Singapore Blog Awards but I admit I sometimes have difficulty curbing my Pavlov reaction of an eyeroll whenever I get invitations to review beauty, as in makeup, schtuff for this blog.

BEAUTY.IS.BEYOND.SKIN.DEEP.FOR.ME.
I shall hereby declare that I honestly, truthfully, frankly, seriously have very little interest in reviewing mascaras, lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail polishes, etc. Besides, I suck at putting on makeup and I just know how to put it on the same way every time anyway. Of course I like to look pretty and have my features enhanced with artful makeup application — that’s what makeup artists are for, isn’t it? So please, whoever is reading this, kindly stop referring to me as a “beauty blogger”. I really don’t have a lot of passion nor interest in over-the-counter beauty products, especially cosmetics!
This “beauty blogger” label is one general misconception that I’d like to slowly change inside people’s heads. Perhaps with the help of a hammer if necessary. Anyway, I digress.

Move aside, Maggie Q!!! There’s a new Nikita bursting into the scene, heh! Don’t I look like some secret agent/spy with a mean kung-fu kick? I kid, I kid – those female movie characters usually got laid by the hero and the villain, then had to endure torture as hostage before getting snuffed. I’ll pass.
At a quick glance, the leg strap with the video microphone that I had to wear during filming looks like a pistol holster though, doesn’t it? Badass yo.
“Paging central for backup! Paging central for backup!”
So there you go, folks. The making of Samsung Singapore La’Fleur Indulgence – Lifestyle Video 2. What do you think? I personally like this video better than the other Samsung video, but that’s just me. Maybe I had a bit of oomph filming this, and then we all took a break for lunch… which meant food coma, so I started to gradually fade and slip into zombie mode.
By the way, you see the bottom info bar on all the videos? It invites you to visit the Samsung Singapore La’Fleur Indulgence microsite to interact with my videos and play an easy game of “Spot the La’Fleur Icon”. I urge you all to go check it out, it’s really fun. Kinda like a treasure hunt where you seek out the La’Fleur icons that are hidden here and there in the videos.
HOW TO PLAY:
1. Go to the Samsung Singapore La’Fleur Indulgence microsite.
2. Login with your Facebook account.
3. Watch the videos.
4. Whenever you see a La’Fleur icon in the video, click it.
5. Collect all 5 icons and you stand a chance to win a weekly prize.
Good luck and live indulgently!!! You deserve it. *fist pump*
Now let’s go have some spa water. :)
xoxo,
