I was delighted to receive an invitation to an SK-II event recently. I was familiar with the brand as I’d used it about ten years ago as it was the leading brand that promised whitening. And you know how I’ve always been combatting hyper pigmentation over the years. However, I stopped using it after a while as the brand wasn’t readily available in the US.
It was so cool to be chauffeured to the event. Heh! }:)
This event was the introduction of Sheila Sim as SK-II’s newest Beauty Ambassador. But before I go any further, let me just say that I was surprised to find out that over the years the brand has expanded their product range. The brand now includes products that target specific skin concerns, such as moisturizing and anti-aging.
Sheila Sim is one of Singapore’s top models. She has worked with international brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and walked many runways overseas. She began modeling ten years ago and now, she joins the ranks of Cate Blanchett, Tang Wei, Qiqi and Carina Lau as the latest brand ambassador for SK-II.
I had no idea who she is, but she is very beautiful in person! She appeared to be friendly, down to earth, humble and personable. No diva attitude whatsoever. She spoke candidly about her experience using SK-II products and how SK-II has transformed her skin.
Sheila laughing together with her friends Keith Png from Hide and Seek, Clarence Lee (Make-up Maestro) and Jeremy Tan (Fashion Producer for the Audi Fashion Festival in Singapore), as they gave testimonials on how her face has improved upon using SK-II products.
Speaking of Keith Png, this was my third time seeing him again and he’s always so leng-jai every time we meet. :P Also got to meet Jeremy Tan, from Audi Fashion Festival; I will be sure to run into him again when Fashion Week in Singapore commences in May.
Sheila and the two SK-II head honchos. Her smile was very radiant and infectious. The cameras loved her.
The media frenzy over Sheila Sim. Sheila wore a dress designed by Keith Png, and it looked absolutely gorgeous!
I think Sheila Sim is an elegant model with beautiful Asian features. And gosh, look at her long limbs and a small face. No wonder the cameras couldn’t stop capturing her from every angle.
Sheila Sim being interviewed by the media on her new role as SK-II’s Beauty Ambassador.
From this side profile, Sheila Sim looks a little bit like a younger version of Qiqi, who’s the first SK-II Beauty Ambassador…. don’t u think?
All the other SK-II’s Beauty Ambassadors: Qiqi, Haruka Ayase, Carina Lau, Cate Blanchett, Tang Wei and Lee Sinje. My personal favorite out of the group is Qiqi, whom I think is very elegant.
After seeing in person how glowing and radiant Sheila Sim’s face is… heck, it made me want to take another look at the SK-II range of products and start using them again! :”D
