One of the perks of living in Asia is discovering all these cool gadgets and the geek in me recently got to try this vibrating makeup puff from Korea called the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff. It’s a cute and lightweight, battery-operated little handheld gadget that is shaped like a water droplet. It is basically a makeup applicator to use with foundation and BB cream for an even, satiny finish.
When it comes to putting on foundation, there are so many different ways – using hand, a sponge, a makeup brush, etc. Which is your way? I use my hands to put on foundation and because of that, I have to keep washing my hands since I don’t want to touch other items when my fingers have leftover foundation or creams. It’s kinda mahfan and I use up a lot of handsoap, but that can’t be helped. With the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff, this important step in applying makeup gets a lot easier for me because there’s no mess and my hands stay clean. This little gadget produces a more even coverage and makeup looks much more finished, instead of blotchy and cakey in some spots.
I test drove this little gadget with my BB cream. I find that a little bit of foundation goes a long way since the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff spreads out the foundation quite smoothly.
When using the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff, gentle tapping motion is recommended. The vibration will deposit the foundation evenly onto the skin, so there’s no need to ‘wipe’ or drag the foundation across your face manually. If you’re worried about not getting enough coverage, you can repeat and tap on the desired areas to get a heavier coverage (say, on some blemishes or other areas that require more, like the undereye for example).
I did a quick test on a lemon to demonstrate the coverage. As you can see, on the left half is BB cream applied by hand. On the right half is BB cream applied using the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff. The coverage is much more even and the bumps on the lemon aren’t as visible. Using the imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff, the BB cream on the lemon is also smoother, lighter and not as thick or pancake-y. In this humid weather, the last thing we want is a thick layer of BB cream or foundation on our face. Don’t suffocate your pores!
The imyss Waterful Rubycell Vibration Puff is available at Beauty Bistro. Don’t you think it makes a really adorable stocking stuffer for all of your beauty junkie friends? ^^
Tap, Tap, Rrrrrrr….. Rrrrrrr.
